What We've Been Up To Lately....

Warning : This post is ridiculously long. LOL.

To say we've been MIA would be the understatement of the year...but this post is our apology to our wonderful readers and a glimpse of what we've been up to over the last couple of months. Genevia and I are both in transition periods, which is the main reason we've been neglecting the bloggie. It has officially been 2 years since we graduated from our beloved Temple U and its now time to make some major moves as we continue to grow Vice As If and our new baby Mazaye. Who knows...I might just be moving across the pond...no seriously lol. Anywho stay tuned...and for the millionth time...sorry for the long hiatus. Here we go again...enjoy the long post!
A few weeks back I attended the Wall Ball event hosted by The Roots here in Philly. Wonderful event in a beautiful location (Vie). I mean...who wouldn't love an open bar and great food ;)

East Coast Optical hosted a trunk show featuring new sunnies from Chanel and Tiffany&Co. We got the opportunity to try on the lenses and snap polaroid pics...loves it!

Genevia prepping for our shoot with Beads by Aree which we styled here in Philly! Funny enough...our friend Leo from Jack Spade DC was the photographer! Small world indeed! We had alot of fun and the models were a joy to work with...pics coming soon!

Later that day we headed downtown to Aoki boutique for Royalty First Fridays that my friend was hosting. We met some cool people, sipped on champagne and munched on some cupcakes!

Mazaye sponsored Zara Korutz's Creative Soiree with gift bags filled with goodies at MOCA DC not too long ago. The gallery filled with DC's industry elite makeup artists, hair stylists and photographers. We were honored to take part of such an event, especially since all proceeds benefited the I Am Beautiful Project.

Us with Zara!
Recently styled Blonde Gang for their opening performance at the TLA for Tech N9ne and MachineGunKelly! With them...I can push boundaries and mix all types of print lol.
Sophia and Yuie! We dressed "the part" for the concert!

Cool pic I took of them performing. The crowd was insane!

Part 2 of What We've Been Up To Lately coming soon!

LA, LA, LA, LA, LA

Since moving to New York, I haven't really been taking photos or doing much of anything (lame, I know). I'm going to start getting into the swing of things soon... (but you shouldn't hold your breath). Blogging just isn't easy.
As far as trips and taking photos, I did go to New Orleans recently (not for the Essence Music Festival). I know, I know. I'm still pretty lame...
It was great not doing much of anything AND eating a lot. I was dead set on trying all the traditional foods in Louisiana. From crawfish (my new favorite seafood) to a Shrimp Po' Boy. The only thing I didn't try was the Jambalaya. LA even has drive thru Daiquiris with alcohol! How unreal, right?! You already know I had a few... 0_O

In downtown NOLA by the Riverwalk.
Crawfish by the bag. YUM!
I was taught how to eat these properly for the first time. After a few, I was a pro at getting the meat out.

It was blazing hot! I had no idea what to wear, so I settled for a cool tank top from H&M, Top Shop skirt, Vera Wang wedges and Marc Jacob's bag.

I must admit, this Seafood Gumbo was TERRIBLE! Extremely bland. Worst dish I tasted on the entire trip! YUCK!

Surprisingly refreshing. Fried Shrimp Po' Boy!
I also tried a Barbecued Shrimp Po' Boy that had sauteed shrimp drenched in a spicy sauce inside warm french bread. That sauce didn't sit too well with my stomach... The french bread, however, was superb! OMG! I've never tasted french bread like that before. GOOD!

Of course a mini vacation couldn't have ended a better way!
I LOVE grilled food just like I LOVE shoes! Turkey burgers, chicken wings and corn. That's all I need in the summertime.

And we can't forget homemade strawberry daiquiris!

My delicious plate.

Crazy. So illegal. I love it!
